Recovery That's Built Around You
Physiotherapy at Dynamic isn’t a generic program you follow until you feel okay. It’s a one-on-one process where your physiotherapist assesses how you move, understands your goals, and builds a plan around you.
That means treatment suited to where you’re at, exercise that supports your recovery, and clear progression from session to session.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. You can book a physiotherapy appointment directly without seeing a doctor first. However, some extended health plans may require a physician’s referral for reimbursement, so it’s worth checking your coverage before your first visit.
Routine physiotherapy is generally not covered by Alberta Health Care, so most patients use extended health benefits or pay out of pocket. There are some publicly funded physiotherapy programs available in specific circumstances, so eligibility can depend on your situation.
No. Dynamic does not direct bill. You’ll pay for your appointment at the time of your visit, and we’ll provide a detailed receipt with the information you need to submit your claim to your insurance provider.
Your first appointment starts with understanding what’s going on and what you want to get back to doing. Your physiotherapist will talk through your history, assess how you move, examine the affected area, and explain what they find.
In most cases, treatment begins during that same visit. You’ll leave with a better understanding of the issue, a plan moving forward, and exercises or strategies you can start using right away.
There’s more overlap than people often think.
Physiotherapy commonly uses hands-on treatment, exercise and rehabilitation to improve movement, strength and function. Chiropractic care can also include exercise and soft tissue work, with additional emphasis on joint mobility and techniques such as adjustments.
At Dynamic, the disciplines work closely together. If another practitioner or approach would be a better fit for what you need, we’ll tell you.
Treatment depends on what you need rather than following the same formula for everyone. Your physiotherapist may use hands-on therapy, exercise rehabilitation, movement education and other appropriate techniques based on your assessment and goals.
The bigger focus is helping you understand what’s going on and giving you the tools to keep progressing outside the clinic.
No. While both use thin needles, they come from different treatment approaches.
Dry needling is used by some physiotherapists and chiropractors to target specific muscles or tissues based on their assessment. Acupuncture comes from a different clinical framework and traditionally uses acupuncture points.
Not every Dynamic therapist uses dry needling, and it isn’t a standard part of every treatment plan.
Wear comfortable clothing that lets you move and gives your physiotherapist access to the area being assessed. Shorts are helpful for hip, knee or ankle concerns, while a t-shirt or tank top works well for shoulder, neck or upper-back issues. Expect to move during your appointment.
It depends on what you’re dealing with, how long it’s been going on and what you’re trying to get back to doing.
Your physiotherapist will give you a clearer idea after your assessment and will reassess your progress along the way. The goal isn’t to keep you coming indefinitely, it’s to give you the treatment, education and tools you need to move forward confidently.
Most likely, yes. Exercise and movement are a big part of how we treat at Dynamic. Your physiotherapist will show you what to do, explain why you’re doing it and make sure it fits your current ability and goals. What happens between appointments is an important part of your progress.
Our physiotherapists work with a wide range of muscle, joint and movement-related concerns, including sprains and strains, overuse injuries, tendon problems, post-surgical rehabilitation, persistent pain and return-to-activity rehabilitation.
You don’t have to be a competitive athlete to come to Dynamic. If being active matters to you, whether that means lifting, running, skiing, gardening or simply moving comfortably day to day, we’ll build treatment around what you want to get back to.
Physiotherapy is available at all three locations: Beltline (833 10 Ave SW), Royal Oak (inside Evolve Strength, 8888 Country Hills Blvd NW) and Seton (inside Evolve Strength at 710-19587 Seton Crescent SE).
