Spencer was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. He attended the University of Lethbridge where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Honours, then went on to gain his Master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta. While completing his schooling, Spencer received mentorship at a number of rehabilitation clinics across the province. During this time he developed a rehabilitation philosophy that emphasizes an active approach to recovery which incorporates movement in order to get people back to doing what they love.

Throughout his youth, sports were a fundamental part of Spencer’s life. He participated in a variety of athletics including basketball, football, hockey, and track and field. Further, he coached youth flag football and club basketball for several years as he completed his university degrees. Now, Spencer stays active by playing volleyball, flag football, disc-golf,  weightlifting, and running. Due to Spencer’s diversity of athletic experiences he has a deep understanding of movement and an appreciation of the demands of sport.

During Spencer’s many years of playing sports, he learned first hand what it means to rehabilitate an injury while participating in a sports season. Spencer is passionate to help others work through their pain and injuries to ensure that they are able to stay active and continue to do what they love. In order to promote overall health and wellbeing Spencer actively educates and guides people through their rehabilitation experience. Spencer promotes optimism and strives to help everyone reach their athletic and physical potential regardless of their starting point.
