What Do Chiropractors Do?

At a high level, chiropractors are medical care providers who specialize in helping patients move well. This can mean a number of different things depending on what they determine a patient’s needs are including injury diagnosis and treatment, pain relief, structural correction and more. Traditional chiropractors typically only offer adjustments — a quick procedure where they apply a controlled, sudden force to a joint using their hands or a small instrument. Dynamic chiropractors offer a broader range of services based on what they determine your specific needs are. The Dynamic chiropractic approach can include:

  • Chiropractic adjustments
  • Injury diagnosis and specialist referral if necessary
  • Treatment plans
  • Preventative and rehabilitative exercises
What makes dynamic different?

Dynamic chiropractors believe in a 360-approach, giving patients the treatment, movements, and knowledge they need to keep doing the things they love. This means going beyond the traditional in-and-out, quick adjustment appointments. Dynamic chiropractors work with patients to create the conditions needed for them to find success without having to give up their active lifestyle. We do this by spending time with each patient to assess their biomechanics, explaining problem areas and their causes, and offering practical advice and movements.

WHAT IS PHYSIOTHERAPY?

Physiotherapists are medical care providers specializing in treatment and recovery related to injury. They enable patient treatment and recovery through a number of physical activities including exercise, physical manipulation, and occasionally massage. Dynamic physiotherapists work with patients one-on-one providing specified recommendations and treatments including:

  • Individualized exercise and recovery plans
  • Manual therapy and manipulations
  • Direct communication and check-in’s
What makes dynamic different?

Dynamic physiotherapists work with patients to find the solutions to get them back to doing the activities they love, safely and pain-free. This means taking an individualized approach to injury treatment and recovery. Working with patients one-on-one to offer treatments that suit their pain levels and mobility, creating exercise plans specific to their recovery, and providing solutions to manage and improve discomfort.

WHAT IS MASSAGE THERAPY?

Registered Massage Therapists (or RMT’s as they’re often referred to) are practitioners that provide soft tissue manipulation to treat pain and injury. The types of massage therapy range widely but are often an appointment that ranges anywhere from 30-90 minutes where in the patient will receive a massage to relieve tension, pain, and improve mobility. Dynamic RMT’s focus primarily on enabling active lifestyles as a whole and are more targeted in service offerings, which include:

  • Specified issue treatment
  • Deep tissue massage and active, soft tissue mobilization
  • Working with other Dynamic practitioners for rehabilitation
What makes dynamic different?

Dynamic massage therapists offer active treatments to help active patients move well and feel prepared for any activity. This means prioritizing injury treatment and rehabilitation over relaxation. Dynamic massage therapy flips the conventional approach on its head to address the specific needs of active patients. Massage appointments are performed with patients in sports clothing rather than unclothed, therapists are goal focused rather than offering general treatments, and therapists work in conjunction with other dynamic practitioners to create accelerated recovery. We help patients make best use of their appointments to create real, lasting results.

WHAT IS SPORT MEDICINE?

Sport Medicine Physicians are specialists that deal with the prevention and treatment of injuries related to sports and exercise. They differ from general practitioners in education and depth of knowledge as it relates to injury diagnosis and care. Dynamic Sports Doctors help patients find appropriate next steps and access to specialty diagnosis services when needed. Their services include:

  • Injury diagnosis
  • Specialist referrals (including surgical)
  • Medical treatments (including injections, medication, therapy, and more)

What makes dynamic different?

Dynamic sports doctors help patients find solutions to their complex athletic needs, no matter the challenge. This means working with other practitioners to find an accurate diagnosis and create effective care plans for our patients. Some injuries can be difficult to diagnose or treat through hands-on methods alone. Having an in-house sports doctor means that Dynamic patients have access to the full of extent of necessary care for severe injury. Find solutions to frustrating problems, get a comprehensive rehabilitation plan, and get back to your active life.

WHAT IS SPORT PSYCHOLOGY?

Psychologists are mental health care professionals that assess and help patients with how they think, feel, and behave. There are a wide variety of specializations in psychology, but many work generally with individuals ongoing to improve their mental well being. Dynamic psychologists work with patients to strengthen their emotional health, find new outlooks, and better approach challenges. This includes:

  • Mental performance training (e.g. emotional regulation, use of imagery)
  • Effective use of coping strategies
  • Work with motivation and practice efficiency
  • Group/team sessions - child & family therapy
  • Goal development, improved communication and team building
  • General counseling for working through difficult episodes or coping with anxiety/depression
What makes dynamic different?

Dynamic psychologists believe in empowering patients to feel their best in every aspect of life. This means creating the mental conditions individuals need to live physically active and healthy lives. We can become disconnected from our inherent capacity to achieve our goals - especially if they are long-term. An outside perspective can be a powerful tool for reconnecting with inner strengths we forgot we had and to help us set check-in points that keep us on track for achieving our goals. As part of your team, our Dynamic psychologist’s mandate is to provide a safe space for processing the ups-and-downs we all experience in sport and in life so you can thrive. We cannot always control our circumstances, but we can equip ourselves with tools for getting through.
