Gavin was born in China and moved to Canada at the age of 16. Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese, he values clear communication and meaningful connection, allowing him to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Gavin grew up as a competitive swimmer and practiced martial arts before developing a strong passion for strength training and bodybuilding. He completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology with Honours at the University of Calgary and went on to earn his Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta. Through years of training and firsthand experience with weightlifting-related injuries, Gavin developed a deep understanding of the importance of individualized, high-quality rehabilitation for both athletes and the general population. With a background as a personal trainer, Gavin has worked with people from all walks of life—from competitive bodybuilders to older adults seeking to lift pain-free and maintain muscle mass. These experiences shaped his patient-centered approach, where rehabilitation is carefully tailored to each individual’s sport, goals, and lifestyle.
Outside of the clinic, Gavin continues to train daily with a strong focus on bodybuilding and strength development—an ongoing passion that directly informs his rehabilitation approach. He is dedicated to helping patients move with confidence and purpose, guiding them toward meaningful recovery and long-term success in the activities they love.
